Harvest 2018

As with last harvest the dry weather through June ripened the crops prematurely and resulted in a very early harvest. Unlike last year when the weather turned as soon as the combine started to roll, this year the hot dry spell has rolled on and on. The result of this long continued spell of weather has meant that yields are a lot lower than we would normally hope for, it has enabled us to progress very quickly with no grain needing to be dried.

For any people that visited the farm on Open Farm Sunday this year, you may have seen that we had a new Macdon header. Not long after we started Farming Photography spent the day with us filming for some Macdon promotions. Here is a link to a short clip of some of the footage.
